Arkansas State Representative Johnny Rye has introduced a bill in the Arkansas House Committee that would do away with daylight saving time in the state. House Bill 1017 was introduced by Rye. The Committee expressed concern that Arkansas would become an island among other states and that could affect commerce. Rye says that this is something that Arkansans want. No action has been taken on the bill.
