A man from Dewitt Arkansas was injured in a two-vehicle accident last night in Carter County. The Highway Patrol reports that 44-year-old Richard Gavin suffered moderate injuries when he crossed the centerline and hit a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Steven Werkmeister of van Buren. Werkmeister was not injured in the accident. Gavin was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital. The accident happened on RT U about 7 miles east of Van Buren.
