
Winter weather may create some problems on area roadways today through Thursday. The national weather service has issued an Ice Storm warning for Sharp, Izard, Lawrence, Randolph and Independence counties through noon on Thursday, also a winter weather advisory is in effect through noon Thursday for Baxter, Fulton and Marion Counties. A winter weather advisory is in effect through 6 am Thursday morning for all the counties in our listening area in Missouri. Freezing rain and areas of freezing fog are expected in the area of the ice storm warning and is expected to increase in intensity tonight before ending Thursday morning from one-quarter to one-half inch of ice is expected. For the counties in the advisory freezing drizzle is expected with a mix of light snow, with up to two-tenths of an inch of ice possible and less than an inch of snow. There may be some power outages with the freezing precipitation.
