Authorities say a Batesville man tried to run over 2 people with a vehicle. 38 year old Mark Jeffery allegedly tried to run over a woman and a man. The victims say that Jeffery showed up at their residence where the woman and Jeffery got into an argument that escalated into a physical altercation when Jeffery slapped the woman’s glasses off her face. The man then stepped in and told Jeffery to stop and to leave. At that point the victims say that Jeffery got into his car and drove through the yard to where they were standing. Jeffery then allegedly made another pass through the yard, trying to run them over. When they jumped over a fence, Jeffery left. Jeffery was later arrested and charged with 3rd degree battery.
