The St Louis Cardinals beat the Cleveland Indians for a second straight night up at Busch Stadium. Carlos Martinez got off to a rocky start, giving up 2 runs in the 1st inning, but the Redbirds bounced back scoring 11 times to take the 11-2 win. Matt Carpenter went 5 for 5 with 2 home-runs, Jose Martinez hit a 3 run bomb and Kolten Wong went yard for the Cards, who have now won 4 straight. St. Louis and Cleveland will wrap up their 3 game series tonight, Jack Flaherty will be on the bump for the Cardinals.
The struggle continued last night for the Kansas City Royals. KC managed just 3 hits and lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 5-1. The lone run for KC came on a Adalberto Mondesi homer in the 8th as the Royals drop to 24-55 on the season. They play the Brewers again this afternoon in Milwaukee.
