Arkansas Parole Board Denies Clemency For Man Accused Of Killing Police Officer 30 Years Ago

The Arkansas Parole Board has denied clemency for a man accused of killing a Pocahontas police officer 30 years ago. 62-year-old Dwight Sullinger was convicted of killing Pocahontas Police Officer Scotty Lee Bennett. He was sentenced to life in prison plus 6 years for possession of a firearm. The parole board said Sullinger’s request for clemency lacks merit. Sullinger will not be able to re-apply for clemency for another 4 years.
