MSU-West Plains Announces Several Award Winners

THREE STUDENTS at Missouri State University-West Plains received awards related to the university’s public affairs mission during the annual Celebration of Leaders student awards ceremony April 29 at the West Plains Civic Center. Morgan Spoor, West Plains, received the Distinguished Fellow of Public Affairs Award, for going above and beyond in her efforts to advance the university’s public affairs mission both on and off campus and demonstrating ethical leadership, civic engagement and cultural awareness. Zeke Webb, Ellsinore, and Jefferson Thomas, Houston, each received Public Affairs Fellow Awards for advancing the university’s public affairs mission both on and off campus and demonstrating ethical leadership, civic engagement and cultural awareness. The awards are sponsored and selected by the Public Affairs Committee and supported by the university’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honors society.             JEFFERSON THOMAS, Houston, received the Outstanding Academic Achievement and Leadership Award during Missouri State University-West Plains’ annual Celebration of Leaders student awards ceremony April 29 at the West Plains Civic Center. The award, which is voted on by the faculty, recognizes a graduate or graduates from either the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science programs who exhibits academic excellence, interest and enthusiasm in learning, conscientiousness, academic honesty, a willingness to participate and help others in class, and exceptional university and community service. Thomas, who has a perfect 4.0 grade point average, will graduate May 15 with an Associate of Science in Pre-Engineering degree. (Missouri State-West Plains Photo)
