Authorities in Wright County say a man took his own life after a standoff with police Tuesday. A wright county deputy was called to a residence on Highway Z and Krause Road around 11 Tuesday morning. When the deputy stepped on the porch of the residence a man inside opened fire with a pistol. The deputy returned fire but believed he did not hit the man. Officers later entered the home and found the man dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Mo names have been released at this time and the investigation continues.
