Howell County Health Officials have confirmed the first positive COVID-19 test to be the Delta variant.
Chris Gilliam with the Howell County Health Department says the rise in cases across the county should be concerning to citizens, their local communities, and especially those who have not been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Gilliam says that the Delta variant of the virus is 50-60 percent more transmissible than the original COVID-19 strain.
