New Arkansas state law eliminates mask requirement

New state law in Arkansas says that schools may not require students to wear masks inside in the upcoming school year.

Republican Governor Asa Hutchinson signed the bill into law that keeps any city or state-funded institution from enforcing a mask mandate.

Some superintendents from around the state have been vocal about the law, saying that when cases spike in their schools, it will be hard to control the spread without masks.

Missouri can still pass a law such as this one, but it is now unlikely due to Governor Mike Parson ending his major bill signing event this week.
