The Fulton County Quorum Court met last night.
Judge Gary Clayton said that the county’s state audit has been underway for multiple weeks now.
During the personnel policy committee update, the county included changing COVID-19 sick leave requirements.
The change would be that county employees that are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will have to use sick leave or vacation time if they test positive or are exposed to the virus, if that employee does not have any time to use, they will be quarantined according to current CDC guidelines without pay.
A public comment was made that questioned how the county would verify vaccination without their record being public knowledge.
The item was tabled until next month.
It was announced that Fulton County did meet the threshold for a state of emergency declaration pertaining to county roads.
Judge Clayton said that there are still decisions to be made pertaining to federal and state funding.
Jackie Estes, mayor of Viola, was reappointed to the county hospital board last night as well.
Finally, during public comment, a member from the Salem VFW says they now have burn out kits for families who lost their home due to a house fire.
The kit will include things to help the family purchase food, among many other things.
If you or someone you know is in need of a burn out kit, call the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
