Howell County has seen one of the largest rises in COVID-19 is Southern Missouri.

The county’s vaccination rate is at 24.45%.

As of Monday afternoon, officials at Ozarks Healthcare tell us the hospital is now at 21 COVID-19 patients, only one away from reaching their highest number of cases at 22 since the pandemic began.

This week, the age range is from 25-82.

We spoke to Howell County Health Department Chris Gilliam about the county’s vaccination rate.

The Batesville Daily Guard also posted a picture to social media last night of a doctor from White River Medical Center in Batesville announcing during a special coronavirus meeting that WRMC currently has 30 virus patients at the hospital, all are under 40, and unvaccinated.

If you’re interested in receiving a vaccine, call your local county health unit.
