The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is reporting they have identified the body of a woman discovered in a ditch.
In a press release from Izard County Sheriff Jack Yancey, his office was notified that a body of a woman had been discovered in a ditch and was possibly deceased.
The body was found nearly a mile down Red Lamb Road in Melbourne, AR.
During the investigation, officers spoke with a nearby woman who had returned from work and discovered her daughter was not at home. The officers identified the body to be 44-year-old Rebekah Johnson.
While the investigation is considered to be ongoing, police are saying there is no foul play expected.
The body has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab for an official cause of death.
