Officials with the Izard County Sheriff’s Office tell us that one person died on Monday after a fiery explosion and plane crash.
The crash happened around 11 Monday morning around a quarter-mile west of the Melbourne Municipal Airport.
Reports say that a large boom was heard at the time of the crash.
Witnesses say they saw a plane go into the tree line and saw flames after the crash.
Only one person was on board the aircraft, it is confirmed that person has died.
