A man that was reported missing since late august has now been recovered by personnel from a river.
According to a press release from the Batesville Police Department, Officers observed a video of a car driving through a fence and into water then disappearing.
On Saturday, crews searched through the river looking for the vehicle.
Then on Sunday, the Independence County Search and Rescue team assisted in the search near the south side of Norfork Dam.
Officers discovered a 2012 Chevrolet Captiva and also found 60-year-old Jerry Overland who had been missing since Aug. 31.
Overland’s body is being sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
