On Sunday, September 26, 2021, just after 5:00 PM, West Plains Officers responded to the 1300 Block of
Preacher Roe Boulevard for a motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, contact was made with the driver of a 2010 Ford Explorer who complained of head, neck, and
arm pain. That driver was transported to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment.
The investigation of the crash determined that the 2018 Dodge Ram was traveling through the parking lot
while the Ford was parked in a parking stall. The Dodge struck the Ford after driving too close to it and then
proceeded to park in a parking stall.
Officers asked the diver of the Dodge what caused him to strike the parked vehicle. The driver stated the sun
was in his eyes. While Officers spoke with the driver of the Dodge, they could smell the odor of intoxicants
coming from them and asked them if they had been drinking. The driver admitted to drinking a couple of
beers.
It was later determined that the driver also had a suspended license for alcohol-related offenses.
The driver of the Dodge was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated involving injury. Charges were forwarded
to the Howell County Prosecutors Office for their review and filing of the said charges along with the
possibility of other charges.
