The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of a man on burglary charges after an event that occurred on Oct. 3.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Deputy Barnes responded to an apartment complex located in Calico Rock.

An apartment owner had asked someone to lock her apartment door, but the person left the doors unlocked for maintenance to do some work on the apartment.

When the apartment owner walked into the apartment, she found a male sitting on the couch.

She noticed that the apartment had been disorganized, and the male subject had a knife in his back pocket.

The owner then told the male to leave the apartment, which he did but went to the back door of another apartment, which the owner stated she heard banging.

After an investigation of the incident, the victim stated that the man had stolen nothing from her home, but did leave strange handwritten notes on her coffee table, driven knives into several walls inside the apartment, ate food inside the home, and hung multiple stuffed animals from the ceiling fans.

One of the notes stated “ “if only I had one, thanx for not Being there tonight, I need some alone time, I’m with tesla or me Casa must say look for Luke for work or else”.
All the letters were photographed and seized for evidence in the case.

The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Luke Dennis and was on probation within the county.

After the probation parole officer was contacted, officers realized Dennis’s contact number matched the one that was left on one of the notes.

Dennis now faces charges for felony residential burglary and criminal mischief.

His bond was set at $20,000.
