Thayer City Council to host “Town Hall Meeting” before regular council meeting

The Thayer City Council has announced a town hall meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 6 pm, before the council’s regular meeting scheduled for 7 pm.

The council plans to allow everyone a chance to present their various ideas on growth throughout the city. 

After receiving a copy of the agenda, we were told that there may be minor adjustments made before the final posting on Tuesday. 

We’ll keep you updated when a new agenda has been posted.

a Regular Scheduled Council Meeting

at 7:00 Wednesday, October 13, 2020

At City Hall, 124 N. 2nd Street in Thayer, Missouri

A portion of the meeting may be in Closed Session

The Town Hall Meeting will allow multiple discussions about any topics the citizens of Thayer would like to address with the Council.

  1. Council to approve the Consent Agenda
  • Council meeting minutes for Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
  • Court Report for the month of September . Court Receipts for September $1250.93
  • Fire Department minutes for the month September. Fire Expense for September $400.00.
  • September Financial Report
  1. Council to approve the bills paid and to be paid
  2. Council to discuss issues from the Town Hall Meeting

 

Public Participation

  1. Ron Roberts to address the Council about the Rodeo Arena.
  2. Marge Shipp to address the Council about closing the alleyway behind her house and other issues she has brought to Council in previous months.
  3. Alec Shrable and Trenton Huskey to address the Council about 316 Vine, 212 Vine and 424 N 3rd
  4. Susan Steffins to address the Council about growing the community.

Old Business

  1. Council to discuss the Ordinance proposal submitted by Marge Shipp.
  2. Council to approve the Audit Report submitted by Diediker Accounting.
  3. Council to discuss the trash issue at the courts.
  4. Council to approve a list of bid items to be put in the paper.
  5. Council to discuss the installation of a sidewalk for the Thayer School District.

New Business

  1. Council to discuss the upcoming Holiday schedule.
  2. Council to review bids for the heating and cooling at City Hall.
  3. The Water Dept is needing new chlorine scales for Well 4. Costs would be $2,468.00 for two.
  4. Council to discuss the building permit submitted by Julie Cone for a shed for a business.
  5. The Electric Dept is needing to restock transformers. As of posting a bid isn’t available.
  6. The Electric Dept is needing to discuss work on the digger truck and a bucket truck.
  7. Council to approve adopting the 2020 Electric Code for the City Electrician Standards and updating the Electrician Test to match the 2020 Electric Code.

 

A portion of the meeting may be in CLOSED SESSION:

The tentative agenda of this meeting may include a vote to close part of the meeting pursuant to section 610.021(1), 610.021(2) and 610.021(3) of the revised Missouri Statutes 1986.

Discussions on Personnel, Leasing or purchase of real estate, and possible litigation.
