A Mountain Home man get probation after his arrest for using drugs in a home with a small child. 18 year old Hunter Ty Peifer entered a guilty plea to a number of charges, including possessing drugs and endangering the welfare of a minor, and was given 10 years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday. Peifer was arrested after Mountain Home Police officers and officials from the Department of Human Services went to a multifamily housing development in February to conduct a home visit to check on an infant living in the household.
The police were called after DHS personnel arrived first and observed glass smoking pipes used to ingest drugs in plain view. After officers responded to the scene, Peifer turned over a lockbox containing about 9 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales and unused small plastic bag commonly used to package methamphetamine for sale or use. A small infant was also in the residence at the time. Peifer allegedly admitted he had smoked methamphetamine the day before DHS and the police visited the residence.
