Walnut Ridge Police Chief Jordan Cooksey confirmed that a man was lifted to an area hospital after a shooting in the city.
Officers were called to the 800 block of third street Friday afternoon.
Police were still unable to give a name, and he was going to have surgery.
Officials said they did have a suspect in custody, and the prosecuting attorney would be filing charges.
