Citizens of Howell County Missouri,
With a heavy heart I want to provide transparency regarding recent concerning matters. On November 24, 2021 at
approximately 2230 hrs, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office received allegations of an employee committing acts of moral
turpitude and a sexual offense. Immediately upon receiving such allegations and to ensure a fair and impartial inquiry was
conducted; the allegations were forwarded to the Missouri Department of Social Services on November 25, 2021 at
approximately 0100 hrs and the Missouri State Highway Patrol on November 25, 2021 at approximately 0900 hrs.
As the allegations unfolded and as a result of such findings; on November 25, 2021 at approximately 1900 hrs the employee
was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and formally charged for the sexual offense pursuant to the Revised
Statutes of Missouri Chapter §566.032. Furthermore, all facts and circumstances regarding this incident has been
forwarded to the Department of Public Safety pursuant to the Revised Statutes of Missouri Chapter §590.080 and a Notice
of Termination with the Howell County Sheriff’s Office has been issued.
As with all matters that erode the integrity and efficiency of your Office of Sheriff, I want to reinforce to the community that
an internal investigation shall be administered in order to discover any potential points of failure in order mitigate such
matters. Lastly, as your Sheriff, I have been bestowed the greatest honor, which is to Lead in the service and protection of
our community with integrity and transparency that will continue a forged trust.
