Multiple area schools received an award from the Arkansas Department of Education regarding student performance.
The awards come from the Arkansas School Recognition Program, created to provide financial awards to public schools that experience high student performance, student academic growth, and high graduation rates for secondary schools.
According to the Department of Education, Hillcrest Elementary School received $10,950, Melbourne Elementary School received $20,450, and Salem Elementary School received $21,200.
