Fulton County and Mammoth Spring authorities report the arrest of a man on drug charges.
According to arrest records, 27-year-old Zachary Arnold was observed at a motel in Mammoth Spring.
The clerk at the hotel said that Arnold was acting nervous and stated he could not stay long because people were looking for him.
MSPD Assistant Police Chief Jamie Turnbough was notified and asked to check on the suspicious individual.
Arnold was known to Turnbough to be a parole absconder with an active felony warrant out of Sharp County and also had a search waiver on file.
Turnbough contacted Deputy Jason Jordan and Blair Ables to assist in taking him into custody due to his history of violence.
Officials met at the motel and began announcing themselves at the room door, advising Arnold to come outside.
The motel clerk handed Turnbough a key to the room due to Arnold acknowledging he was inside the room and would not come to the door.
Turnbough then unlocked the door, and Deputy Jordan and Ables entered the room while continuing to announce themselves.
Ables began placing hand restraints on Arnold while Deputy Jordan had ahold of him.
He attempted to pull away from the deputy.
Arnold was able to be controlled, and hand restraints were placed on him.
He then told deputies that he had approximately an ounce of meth in a black bag beside the bed.
Turnbough opened the bag, which contained a large amount of suspected methamphetamine in a clear bag inside a clear plastic box. Also found in the box was a used needle.
Arnold admitted to police that he had intentions to sell the drugs.
He also said that he had not sold any yet due to having just stolen the drugs from the dealer and had used some of the meth earlier that evening.
Arnold was placed under arrest and was transported to the Sharp County Jail by Asst. Chief Turnbough.
He is now charged with possession with purpose of delivering methamphetamine, cocaine, or heroin.
His bond was set at $10,000.
