An Ozark County man pled guilty to theft and now faces multiple years in prison.
According to court documents, Jesse Osterkamp of Bakersfield made the plea to Circuit County Judge Craig Carter.
The probable cause states that an officer was dispatched to a home on Highway O in Bakersfield on March 10.
An owner of the ATV told police that a gate had been left open, and thinking that she might’ve forgotten to close the gate, she continued onto the property.
When she completed her farm chores, the woman realized that an ATV was missing and valued at nearly $1,600.
She also found that a battery, two ratchet straps, and two locks were missing.
On April 3, the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office responded to Osterkamp’s home and discovered a four-wheeler that had matched the description of the missing one in the backyard.
Officers then found that the VIN number of the ATV matched the missing ones.
He was also charged with a felony for stealing in Ozark County for a utility trailer back in 2019.
Osterkamp will spend the next four years in prison.
