The Izard County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a woman on terroristic threatening charges on Dec. 20.
According to court documents filed on Thursday, Sergeant Steve Davidson with the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a convenience store in the Mount Plesant area in response to a call for service from 28-year-old Ashley Lewis.
While speaking with Sgt. Davidson, Lewis stated that she and her boyfriend had gotten into a verbal altercation in Izard County prior to driving to the convenience store. She also said that she had made threats toward her boyfriend.
After Investigator Tyler Webb began to conduct an interview with Lewis, she started spontaneously uttering threats of death or serious injury toward her boyfriend.
After being advised of her legal rights, she continued to make numerous statements claiming that she was going to stab and kill her boyfriend.
When Lewis was asked to stand from the table she was being interviewed at, Lewis said she was “definitely going to kill her boyfriend” as soon as she was released on bond.
When en route to the jail, the death threats continued from Lewis, even including his family members and the general public.
After a search of Lewis’ car, police found a Henry lever-action .22 caliber rifle with a scope lying in the back floorboard of the vehicle under clothing.
Lewis is a convicted felon in Arkansas, meaning she cannot possess a firearm.
She is now charged with felony first-degree threatening and felony possession of a firearm by certain persons.
Her bond was set at $10,000.
