A man in Texas County will spend life in prison without parole from a case that dates back to 2019.
24-year-old Michael Nugent was guilty on charges of first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action.
This week, he received his sentencing.
Court documents say that deputies responded to a scene on Highway 17 and Route W in Midvale for reports of a man on the ground that appeared to be shot.
The shooting victim was able to tell emergency crews what happened before being taken to the hospital, but the Willow Springs resident later died at the Texas County Memorial Hospital.
Nugent was later arrested by the Highway Patrol in Howell County.
