Illinois woman killed, Thayer man injured in Sharp County crash

A crash in Sharp County killed an Illinois woman and injured a Thayer man on Saturday. 

On Saturday, according to fatal crash summaries from the Arkansas State Police, a 2006 Honda Civic driven by 32-year-old Paul Scott Jr. of Thayer was traveling southbound on Highway 167 north of Evening Shade, when the car attempted to negotiate a curve, lost traction on the wet roadway, crossed the northbound lane of traffic before leaving the roadway, struck some trees, and overturned. 

Scott was injured in the crash and was taken to the White River Medical Center in Batesville, while a passenger, 30-year-old Angela Richardson of Salem, IL was killed in the crash. 

Richardson was taken to UAMS – Little Rock but later died at the hospital. 

The crash summary reports the roads were wet, and it was raining at the time of the crash.
