The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on a theft charge.

According to court documents filed on Tuesday, 19-year-old Trevor Coker and another female went to a residence to work for the property owner.

Coker and the female were supposed to arrive at 8 am but did not show up until approximately 10:15 am.

While working with the property owner, Coker noticed the stock of a rifle sticking out of a feed sack in a John Deere Gator and asked what kind of gun it was.

The property owner replied that it was a 30-30.

Coker was then left alone working for around 15 minutes and told the property owner when he returned to check on Coker that it was too cold and he and the other female needed to leave.

Later that evening, the landowner went to retrieve her rifle from the Gator, and it was not there.

No one had been at the property except for Coker and the female that day but knew that the couple would be back the next day to do more work and would ask them about it then.

The property owner received a message saying the couple was having car trouble the following day.

An investigator with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office contacted the female that was with Coker and asked about the firearm, and she said she had not seen it.

The investigator set a time for an interview, and neither Coker nor the female showed up for the appointment.

Coker is charged with theft of a firearm totaling more than $2,500.

His bond was set at $5,000.
