Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force arrest three on drug charges

The Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force, composed of Ozarks and Douglas County deputies and the Ava Police Department, report the arrest of three on drug charges. 

According to Ozark County Sheriff Cass Martin, officers seized over 1500 grams of processed marijuana that was being repackaged, relabeled, and sold as medical marijuana. 

Officers also seized over $3,700 in currency, cocaine, methamphetamine, and several weapons. 

As a result of the investigation, three subjects were arrested and placed on 24-hour holds at the Douglas County Jail. 

31-year-old Nathan Vanderstine of Ava, MO, 28-year-old Kayla Welsh of Ava, MO, and 31-year-old Christopher Trent of Gainesville, MO was arrested for felony delivery of a controlled substance – more than 35 grams of marijuana, felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, felony possession of a controlled substance – cocaine, and felony possession of a controlled substance – psilocybin mushroom.

Their bond was set at a $1,500 cash-only. 

All three will be required for twice-weekly drug testing and cannot test positive for any drugs, including medical marijuana. 

The subjects will be forced to adhere to a 7 pm – 7 am curfew.
