
The Izard County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on drug charges.
Arrest records say on March 3, Izard County Sheriff’s Deputies and the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force conducted a parole home visit on 39-year-old Jimmy Lewallen at his residence on Knob Creek Road in an attempt to arrest Lewallen on an outstanding warrant in Baxter County.
When officers arrived and made contact with Lewallen, and other occupants of the residence, he was detained.
After speaking to other residents, it was discovered that Lewallen stayed in at least two rooms in the home.
While searching in Lewallen’s room with his girlfriend, a metal ammo box was found with several glass and wood smoking devices used for marijuana.
All smoking devices had a burnt green vegetable material inside.
In the corner of the room, a glass bong smoking device was lying next to the bed, and a pill bottle with a white crystalline substance.
A Jennings .22 caliber pistol was discovered when officers searched under the bed.
Both the glass smoking device, as well as the substance in the pill bottle, tested positive for methamphetamine at a later date.
Lewallen is charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia – methamphetamine, felony possession of firearms by certain persons, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $25,000.
