A man was arrested in Ozark County on a felony warrant.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s office, Deputy Miller responded to a call at Cooks Motel in Theodosia on March 21 at 10:34 for a report of an individual trespassing on the property.
The reported individual was identified as Noel Cole.
While patrolling the area looking for Cole, Miller was flagged down by Cole.
Deputy Miller requested Cole to pull off the roadway and into a nearby driveway, but he refused.
The deputy then activated lights and sirens, informed Cole he was not free to leave, and again requested him to pull off the roadway.
Cole again refused, placed his vehicle in drive but was blocked the Deputy’s vehicles.
Cole proceeded to reverse and fled onto Winchester Drive.
Deputy Miller began pursuing Cole, who was driving in both left and right ditches, reaching speeds of 75 mph in a 45 mph zone, and traveling at a high rate of speed as he passes a school with students clearly visible on a walkway next to the road.
The pursuit continued onto County Road 639, where he continued traveling at a high rate of speed.
After turning onto County Road 632, Cole’s vehicle began to experience mechanical issues.
Cole turned southbound on Highway P, and the vehicle stopped approximately two miles from US Highway 160.
Deputy Miller approached the vehicle and instructed Cole to exit, but he refused.
After attempting to remove Cole from the vehicle multiple times, Deputy Miller suffered a dislocated finger.
Cole was eventually detained after authorities were forced to use a taser.
Due to the taser deployment, Cole was taken to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment.
He was then transported to the Ozark County Jail and is awaiting the filing of formal charges for felony assault causing serious physical injury, felony endangering the welfare of a child – creating a substantial risk, felony resisting arrest, felony creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to a person, felony harassment, and misdemeanor trespassing.
He was given no bond.
