Douglas County Sheriff’s Department reports that during the week of August 6th through the 13th the sheriff’s department has had 104 calls for service and has arrested and booked 19 individuals into the Douglas county jail. On august 10th the sheriff’s office served a search warrant at a residence on the east side of Ava and arrested two individuals, formal charges are pending. Then during the night on Sunday the 12th Corporal Wallace made a traffic stop and seized over a half pound of marijuana, again charges are pending. Monday morning the Sheriff’s Department transported 9 inmates to the department of corrections. Sheriff Degase and the entire Department wants to remind everyone that with school starting this week we need to allow more drive time due to the buses be out and about. Also be mindful of students walking to and from school, and entering and exiting buses.
