The Mountain View Police Department confiscated a large amount of methamphetamine.

On April 4, a traffic stop was conducted on Highway 60 for failing to dim headlights.

During the stop, authorities could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The driver and passenger did not have valid driver’s licenses and were on probation and parole for various felonies.

The driver stated all he had in the vehicle was a small amount of marijuana and handed authorities a marijuana bud.

In a search of the vehicle, police recovered approximately 196 grams of a crystalline substance suspected of being methamphetamine, three grams of suspected cocaine, 28 grams of marijuana, and several ecstasy pills.

Also found in the vehicle was a 9mm handgun with accompanying magazines.

During the investigation, it was determined the two were en route to locations in Mountain View and Birch Tree.

Drug trafficking charges against the two individuals are pending.
