ELECTION SECURITY:

The Missouri House of Representatives adopted an amendment on Thursday that some believe will improve election security. The amendment aims to prohibit the use of electronic ballot casting machines that store voter data electronically. The sponsor of the amendment, Republican Brad Hudson, believes this technology could lead to inaccurate elections and prevent recounts.

This comes amid fears that online data would prevent officials from tracking ballots as accurately as they could with a paper trail. However, Democrats in opposition argue electronic devices that physically mark paper ballots eliminate the margin for human error.
