With the increase in costs around the region, Fulton County will consider making a change in its fueling process.
Judge Gary Clayton and Newly Appointed County Sheriff Joe Boshears have worked to place a fueling station at the Sheriff’s Office.
The gasoline tanks will be placed at the Sheriff’s Office for all official county vehicles, and those requiring diesel will be able to fill at the county yard.
Judge Clayton did state that the rise in prices would harshly affect the county road department.
A company out of Mountain Home will install the station at the Sheriff’s Office at no cost, and with the implementation of the tank, hopes are to save 40-60 cents per gallon of gas.
The county will use a smartphone app to monitor county employees’ mileage.
It will cost nearly $$480 a year to maintain the fuel management system.
