A man was arrested in Sharp County on drug charges.

According to court documents filed on April 11, on Jan. 27, a Sharp County Deputy received a call regarding a trespassing complaint.

The deputy then called the supposed victim, who claimed a couple beside his camper at the River Bend Park in Hardy were stealing power from them.

Once the deputy verified the couple suspected of stealing the electricity had returned to the park, he responded to the area.

When authorities arrived, they found the suspected couple standing by a vehicle near their home.

The man was identified to be 24-year-old Larry Parish.

Parish was on felony parole, and according to his parole officer, he was supposed to be in Lawrence County, not Sharp.

It was also stated that a search waiver was on file as a stipulation of his parole.

After a search of his car and motor home, police found a cannabis vaporizing device with suspected THC fluid and a pink zipper bag containing a glass smoking device with a crystalline substance inside.

The victim told police he no longer wanted to press charges against Parish for stealing the power, due to him paying for the amount he used.

Parish is charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

His bond was set at $5,000.
