Cliff Hawkins, the former long time Coach of the Thayer Bobcats is responsible for setting a rich tradition of success at Thayer High.
Hawkins led the Bobcats for 16 years (1990-2006) with an impressive record! He led the CATS to their First Final 4 appearance in 42 years in 2003 (finished 3rd) Coach Hawkins stepped down from coaching the boys program in 2006. In 2008 he became the Assistant Girls Coach and eventually took over as the head coach in 2009. He then led the Lady Bobcats for two more years (2009-2010) guiding them to the schools first ever girls Final 4 appearance and finishing in Second Place in 2010.
