A West Plains man was sentenced in federal court on Wednesday for his involvement in drug and weapon trafficking.

The Western District of the US Attorney’s Office says 50-year-old Dale Martin will see 20 years in federal prison without parole.

Last year, Martin pleaded guilty to illegally possessing and distributing drugs and firearms in Howell County.

In 2018, a search of Martin’s residence yielded a loaded firearm, methamphetamine, $8,010 in cash, fentanyl, two packages of Suboxone, 22 capsules of Dronabinol, surveillance equipment, ammunition, a night vision scope, body armor, and drug paraphernalia.

Later in 2018, authorities returned to Martin’s house, finding multiple firearms, drugs, and $5,472 in cash.

The case was investigated by the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, West Plains Police Department, and the South Central Drug Task Force.
