
The Izard County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of a man on drug charges.
According to court documents filed on Monday, on May 6, Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office assisted Arkansas Community Corrections Offices with a home visit at a residence on Pleasent Vally Road in Calico Rock.
Authorities made contact with the property owner and resident, identified as 59-year-old Carl Marentette.
As an officer knocked on a door to the home, it was seen the Marentette was rushing to a back room but returned a few moments later.
Morentette asked who the officer was, and when he identified himself, authorities were allowed inside for the home visit.
When asked why he ran to the backroom, he disclosed that he had to put on a pair of pants.
The officers then began to search the home.
A clear plastic zip bag containing a white crystalline substance was found.
The substance found field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Marentette faces charges for felony failure to maintain a drug premise and an enhanced felony charge for possession of a controlled substance.
His bond was set at $10,000.
