Man arrested for selling narcotics out of West Plains Hotel

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on drug charges. 

According to a release from the department, on June 6, the Sheriff’s Office received information on a male subject staying at a local Hotel in West Plains and was selling narcotics. 

Authorities made contact with the subject at a convenience store just off Porter Wagoner Blvd in West Plains. 

After further investigation, the male subject, identified as Douglas Patterson, had active warrants out for his arrest. 

During the investigation, a narcotics K-9 was called to the scene. 

The K-9 returned with a positive alert, and a search of Patterson’s vehicle revealed two bags of suspected methamphetamine, a bag of fentanyl powder, and several packaging materials, including baggies, capsules, and digital scales. 

Patterson was taken to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office and is being held on a $100,000 bond for delivery of a controlled substance and attempt to escape from custody.
