
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of two people on drug charges.
A report says on June 2, authorities made a traffic stop near the Town and Country Supermarket.
Upon making contact with the vehicle’s occupants, they were identified as 56-year-old Rhonda Trent and 29-year-old Kellie Trent, both of Ava, MO.
It was apparent that Kellie was under the influence of a controlled substance.
A search on the scene was conducted by law enforcement where methamphetamine was located in the purse of Rhonda, and methamphetamine and marijuana was found on Kellie.
Both were taken to the Douglas County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
A warrant was issued for Rhonda Trent for possession of a controlled substance, with her bond being set at $500 with twice-weekly drug testing.
Kellie Trent had a warrant issued for her arrest on charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Her bond was set at $500, and she will also have to drug test weekly.
Both subjects have recently posted their bonds.
