During a recent sweep in Carter County, 9 sex offenders were found to be non-compliant. The Carter County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted sex offender compliance checks on all known sex offenders residing in the county.
From the 29 compliance checks conducted, charges were filed against nine people. Eight for failure to register as a sex offender and one for being physically present within 500 feet of a park or playground.
