A Father and Son from Mountain Home suffered minor injuries when the plane they were in crashes Wednesday afternoon near the Arkansas River. 49 year old James N. Brown and 20 year old James D. Brown were both taken by helicopter to the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock. According to authorities their plane crashed in a field off highway 161 west of England. James N. Brown was identified as the pilot, he said that his airplane stopped working and he called in an emergency “mayday” and attempted to land the plane in a field. It reportedly came down between trees and into an open grass area. The landing gear was broke off, but he plane was upright. The federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
