A West Plains couple who were charged with multiple felonies have entered pleas in court. 37 year old Carrie Elizabeth Carver and 39 year old Charles Wayne Kleine were both reportedly involved 2 children in packaging and distribution of narcotics and allowing 4 children to live in unsafe conditions. Carver entered an Alford plea to charges of distribution of a controlled substance in a protected location and delivery of 35 grams or more of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid to a person less than 17 years old, 1 count of delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid and 5 counts of 1st degree endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs. Carver also pleaded guilty to a charge of distribution of a controlled substance. She will be sentenced on September 21st. Klein pleaded guilty to distribution of a controlled substance in a protected location, delivery of 35 grams or more of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid to a person less than 17 years old, delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid and 5 counts of 1st degree endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs. Klein was sentenced to 13 years on the first charge, 10 years on the second charge, 4 years on the third charge and 7 years on each child endangerment charge. All the sentences wil run concurrently. Both Carver and Klein have an extensive arrest history.
