Izard County authorities have arrested a couple on drugs and weapons charges. The 16th judicial drug task force served a search warrant and found 54 potted marijuana plants averaging 4 to 6 feet tall, a .22 caliber rifle, a 12 gauge shotgun and five grow lights. Authorities say the drugs and firearms were within the reach of children. 44-year-old Seth Anthony Johnson and 38-year-old Leann Johnson were both arrested. The residence was also reportedly within 1,000 feet of multiple drug-free zones. Leeann and Seth Johnson have been charged with felony counts of manufacture of a schedule VI controlled substance; simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms; and maintaining drug premises within 1000 feet of certain drug-free zones. They have also been charged with a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a minor in the third degree.
