Carter County Courthouse is nominated as Historic Place

The Carter County Courthouse has been nominated by the Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation for the National Register of Historic Places. The decision on the nomination will be announced on July 15th in Jefferson City The Courthouse, in Van Buren, is the only Heartland nomination on the list the council is discussing at this time. The nominations agreed on by the council will be forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register, in Washington, D.C., for final approval.
