A Yellville man was arrested in Stone County for kidnapping

A Yellville man has been arrested for the third time on kidnapping charges. 23-year-old Chipper Wade Statum was arrested after an incident last Friday In Mountain View Arkansas. The mountain View PD received a call from Wal-Mart informing them that a woman was inside the restroom, saying she had been abducted. Statum was waiting on her to come out of the restroom The woman told authorities what had happened to her, and how and why she was kidnapped. She that during an argument, her estranged boyfriend, identified as Statum, had forced her into his vehicle to go with him to Batesville to pick up his paycheck from a chicken processing plant. In refusing to go with Statum at first, the female was subjected to aggravated assault including the suspect choking her until she lost consciousness. The female said  Statum kicked her, struck her in the head, pulled a handful of hair from her head, and choked her during the abduction.
Statum is also accused of terroristic threatening when he allegedly told the victim that he was going to “slit her throat and throw her out of the car going 80 miles per hour,”.
Authorities have charged Statum with three felonies: kidnapping, aggravated assault on a household member, terroristic threatening, and four misdemeanors for domestic battery in the third degree, violation of an order of protection, and interference with emergency communications in the first degree.

Statum’s bond was set at $300,000.
