
Missouri voters go to the polls on Tuesday, August 2 for Missouri’s statewide primary. There are several contested races locally that we will be watching closely. Today we take a look at the contested races locally in Howell and Oregon Counties. In Howell County on the Republican ticket for Presiding Commissioner, there are two candidates, Ralph Riggs and Bryan Brauer. For Howell Township Committeewoman, there are two candidates and they are Victoria Howerton and Judy Vonallmen. The City of West Plains also has a Proposition on the ballot for a one-half of one-percent sales tax for capital improvements and there is a question on the ballot to see if the Prosecuting Attorney be made a full-time position. In Oregon County voters on the republican Ticket will vote on an associate Circuit judge, the candidates are William (Bill) Hass and Harvey Allen. For Presiding Commissioner the candidates are Henry Smith, David Stubblefield, and Terry Cline. For County Clerk, the candidates are Betty Grooms and Crystal Howell.
There are several Statewide races to watch and ECNN will also watch closely the contested races in Carter, Douglas, Ozark, Ripley, Shannon, Texas, and Wright Counties.
