Thayer Police Department received a report of a bear sighting today in the area of W Highway. Thayer PD would like to remind the public to exercise caution, and common sense when walking near wooded areas in and around the city. You should never approach a bear, or get between a female bear and her cubs. On the Missouri Department of Conservation website, they remind the public to Be Bear Aware — stay safe in bear country, and keep our bears wild.
