The Howell County Sheriff’s Department reports a couple of arrests. Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle in Mountain View that failed to yield and traveled into Shannon County, down several county roads and state highways before returning to Howell County and continuing to flee down several more county roads and state highways. The Highway Patrol deployed spike strips, but prior to reaching the strips, the vehicle turned into a private driveway and through a dry creek bed into a wooded area. The vehicle then suffered mechanical issues and stopped.  Deputies then arrested two suspects. The driver Odie Belt and passenger Jerica Finley were both arrested and taken to the Howell County Adult Detention Center. Both are charged with possession of a controlled substance and both had active warrants for their arrest, Belt is also charged with resisting arrest.

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Mountain View Police Department, and the Citizens of Howell and Shannon counties for their assistance in safely resolving this incident.
